Excursions in Karelia together with Petra

Travel by bus from Petrozavodsk to Ruskeala Park (approximately 4 hours, distance 260 km). En route to the park, stop at the Akhinoski Waterfalls, a cascade of Tokhminsky Waterfalls. An "Eco-Trail" has been developed at the waterfalls, crossing suspension bridges. Walking along this trail is NOT included in the price.
In Ruskeala Mountain Park, you'll enjoy a ground walking tour around an artificial lake, stopping at observation platforms and learning about interesting facts about the quarry's history and marble extraction.
Then we'll travel to the pier in Sortavala. We'll board a hydrofoil and cross Lake Ladoga to the Central Estate on Valaam Island. On Valaam Island, there will be a full excursion program (5-hour stay on the island, walking tours): a sightseeing tour of the monastery's Central Estate, an excursion to one of the sketes of the Valaam archipelago (depending on the monastery's technical capabilities): Nikolsky Skete or "New Jerusalem": Gethsemane and Resurrection Sketes, with a visit to the Mount of Olives.
Lunch in the monastery refectory. We then return to Sortavala and return to Petrozavodsk by bus (approximately 4 hours, distance 260 km).

A country excursion by bus from Petrozavodsk.
Visit to Mount Sampo. Mount Sampo in Karelia is considered a place of power and impresses with its beauty. While not very tall, the climb is easy, and the view from the summit is stunning. We'll then travel to Russia's first resort, Marcial Waters, where the highlight is the Church of the Apostle Peter, an architectural monument from the time of Peter the Great. This church is the only architectural monument remaining from the resort's Peter the Great era and is associated with the tsar's stay in the region. We'll also have the unique opportunity to sample the healing waters of three springs, known since the time of Peter the Great. Our next stop is the ancient Girvas volcano. Fortunately, the volcano is no longer active, but we can still see solidified lava, volcanic rocks, and stunningly beautiful landscapes. The final destination of our route will be the Kivach Nature Reserve. During your excursion through the reserve, you'll see Karelia's most famous waterfall, Kivach, and the arboretum of the famous Karelian birch and nature museum.
Return to Petrozavodsk.

Independent arrival at the Onega Embankment pier. Boarding the meteor (comet). The crossing across Lake Onega takes 1 hour 20 minutes each way. Stay on the island for 4 hours. Upon arrival on the island, we proceed to the excursion bureau, where we meet our guides. Group assembly. A tour of the island’s main exhibition lasts approximately 2 hours. A tour of the Kizhi Museum-Reserve includes a visit to the Church of the Intercession, one of the peasant houses, the unique 22-domed Transfiguration Cathedral, and other ethnographic exhibits. Experienced instructors will meet you at the base, provide equipment, brief you on ATV operation and safety, and teach you ATV skills.
Next, you'll set off on the route, traveling along forest and dirt roads. After 10 km, you'll reach the Special Off-Road Section. A rest stop will then be arranged. The routes include extreme off-road sections, lost forest trails, swampy areas, and flat terrain. At the end of the ride, we'll return to the ski area, return your equipment, and return home with pleasant memories.

The Shuya is the most suitable river in Karelia for family and children's recreation, as well as for rafting, for both beginners and experienced rafters. The river offers rapids of varying difficulty. Rafting will give you a wealth of experiences.
Transfer from the Petrozavodsk railway station.
Arrival at the start of the rafting trip - Yumanishki Rapids (40 km from Petrozavodsk). Dividing into teams, getting equipment, and a safety briefing. We set off. The Shuya awaits our adventures: Cape Yumanishki - Krivoy Pass - Bolshoy Tolli Pass (category 2-3), 3 km. Rides on Bolshoy Tolli Rapids. Continuation of the rafting trip. Upon arrival at the clearing, change into dry clothes. A picnic in the open air.
Return to the city.

It provided the stone cladding for many architectural masterpieces of St. Petersburg, including the majestic St. Isaac's Cathedral. The tour lasts approximately 1.5 hours.
Followed by free time in the park for approximately two hours.

We'll take a mini-trip to the uninhabited Loy Island, located opposite the Petrozavodsk embankment. On the island, we'll enjoy tea with oatmeal cookies and fireweed. Seagulls nest here, and a wide variety of berries and flowers grow. And most importantly, it offers panoramic views of Petrozavodsk! The trip will take place on the wooden boat Khiisi, built in 2022.
